At the hospital, we were surrounded by so much love and support. Family and friends came to see you and love on you baby girl. Your daddy and uncle Brandon changed your first dirty diaper, which was hilarious!! All your aunt Kari and I heard behind the curtain was "It's still coming, it's still coming". The nurses kept offering to take you to the nursery so your daddy and I could sleep, but we preferred that you stay near us. We fell so in love with you the moment we laid eyes on you baby girl. Once we arrived home, the three of us had a lot of adjusting to do. Luckily, we had family that came to stay with us over the next few weeks to help out with what we needed. You were not lacking for anything baby Brynn. Closet full of clothes and drawers full of clothes. Diapers everywhere. Everything we needed to care for you we had and more, which was such a huge blessing. You did not like for us to get any sleep;). You would wake every two to three hours at night. Some nights you would just refuse to sleep hardly at all. You were not a fan of sleeping anywhere but on mommy's chest. I didn't mind snuggling with you one bit! Dr. Petrusick told me I couldn't spoil you enough at this age;) For your first two week check up he asked how many times you had pooped in the last 24 hours and I pulled out my little notebook with every pee, every poop, and every feeding....Dr. P. then proceeded to smile and say "please dont be that mommy". He also was so encouraging and told me how great of a job we were doing and to not worry so much. You were really fussy and it took us a while to discover that you were taking in too much air with the bottles we were using and once we switched bottles you were a different baby! While your nanny was here she taught us about using the hair dryer and unfortunately you became quite addicted to it. You would cry and as soon as we turned on the hair dryer you would relax and quit crying! It was like magic!! You would often fall asleep to the hair dryer on. Our electricity bill was significantly higher but we didn't mind one bit! When you start to fall asleep you would give us a little smile, but that is all. Singing to you and reading you a book is one of my favorite things to do with you right now. It is such a joy watching you grow and getting to spend so much time with you!
